The death of legendary Addo elephant, Hapoor junior in March, has had a happy sequel.
Officials at Pumba private game reserve say a baby female elephant sired by him has been born in the park.
Pumba conservation manager, Richard Pearse, said the female calf was born less than two weeks ago., but discovered by rangers on Sunday during a game drive.
He says the baby elephant is in fantastic condition.
Hapoor Junior died in March this year at the age of 58 after battling his brother for dominance of the breeding herd.
