The heads of Port Elizabeth's three state hospitals are expected to outline a course of action on Monday to deal with the crisis in state health care.
The Joint Head of Units at the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex, which include Dora Nginza, Livingstone and Provincial Hospitals, will outline their plans at a media conference in the city.
Their action comes just days after Eastern Cape Health MEC, Sicelo Gqobana, welcomed the intervention of the provincial treasury in his department.
Several key functions, including the personnel department, will be taken over by the treasury and the office of the premier.
