Grahamstown police say hundreds of suspects have been arrested in their Festive Season Clampdown – Operation Duty Calls.
Spokesperson, Capt. Mali Govender says during December, more than 480 arrests were made, and in January until Tuesday morning, more than 60 suspects were arrested.
She says the arrests were made for various offences, including Rape, Murder, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping , Housebreakings, assault, malicious damage to Property, Drunken Driving and Drug Related offences.
Govender says operations are continuing and they expect more successes.
