Graaff Reinet police have arrested 38 suspects in a crime blitz.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant Livuhani Mudau, says the suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from murder, house breaking and theft, to the possession of stolen property.
She says they will all appear in court on Monday.
In a separate matter the body of a 22 years old man was discovered near a tavern in Graaff Reinet in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Mudau says the victim had multiple stab wounds.
No arrests have been made and police are appealing to anyone who may have information on the case to contact their nearest police station.
