Mount Road detectives in Gqeberha are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a deceased woman who died following an alleged hit-and-run.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the incident took place on Thursday last week.
She says police responded to the scene at approximately 18:30.
On arrival, the body of an unknown woman was found lying on the M4 Settlers Freeway in the North End area.
The woman had no identification on her and was approximately aged between 40 and 45.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in the identification of the deceased to contact deputy warrant officer Riaan Steyn on 082 657 0047 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
