Gqeberha police have recovered a large number of stolen goods following the hijacking of a truck in Ikamvelihle.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says a delivery truck was hijacked by two men at a complex in NU1 on Friday.
She says the suspects took the complainant and his passenger and drove in the direction of Motherwell where they dropped them off at a vandalised house in NU10.
They later returned with the empty truck and let them go.
Colonel Naidu says soon after the hijacking was reported, police in Motherwell followed a tracker activation and not only recovered the stolen items, but also other goods suspected to be stolen.
She says police confiscated two cases of rum, four boxes of tobacco, and two cell phones to the value of R17 000 in a house in Mpanda Street in NU10, Motherwell.
There was no one at the house at the time.
Police also recovered more liquor, boxes of tea, boots, boxes of medicine, cartons of cigarettes, tobacco, 138 hot wheel toys, clothing, and sunglasses.
The value of recovered items is unknown at this stage.
