A Gqeberha man was stabbed during a home invasion in Framesby in the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to police, three suspects gained entry into the man's home in Atlanta Crescent at around 01:20.

Two of the three suspects were armed with knives.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the owner, his wife, and his daughter were asleep when the suspects gained entry into the premises by forcing open a sliding door.

The man was awoken by his wife after she heard footsteps inside the house.

"As he got out of bed he was attacked by one suspect with a knife, and he was stabbed in the left forearm.

"The suspects tied the family up and demanded money and firearms."

They ransacked the house and fled with cell phones, an iPad, a digital camera, jewelry, a laptop, and a Samsung television.

The man's daughter managed to flee to the neighbours to seek help, and a panic button was activated.

During a search of the premises, a security officer discovered the Samsung television near the complainant's boundary wall.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery and the suspects are still at large.
