Gqeberha police have arrested a suspect soon after responding to a housebreaking incident at a business in North End.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says when police arrived at the scene early on Sunday morning, they noticed a man and a woman walking towards them.
She says the woman dropped her bag and ran away when she saw the police.
The man in his 30’s was found carrying a high-pressure cleaner and cables, while a compressor was also found nearby.
Colonel Naidu says the stolen items were identified by the owner.
The suspect is being detained on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and housebreaking and is expected to appear in court soon.
