A Gqeberha domestic worker survived a harrowing home invasion at her employer's residence in Sunridge Park on Tuesday in which she was shot in the shoulder by her attackers.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says two unknown men entered the house in Cassia Street at around 11 am and wounded the woman before tying her up.
She said when the homeowner and a tenant returned at separate times, they were also tied up.
Colonel Naidu says the house was ransacked and hunting rifles, a firearm, three cell phones, jewellery, household items as well as the complainant's silver Izuzu bakkie were taken.
She said a neighbour alerted a private security company who found the victims, while the injured domestic worker was then taken to hospital for treatment.
Colonel Naidu says that shortly before 4 pm, members of the Nelson Mandela Bay District Crime Combatting Unit managed to track down the location of one of the stolen cell phones to a bushy area at the corners of Standford and Nooitgedacht Roads.
She said the rifles, three cell phones, and a bag containing alcohol were also found at the scene, but the complainant's bakkie is still missing.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery and attempted murder.
