Uitenhage Police are searching for 5 suspects following the hijacking of a goods truck on the R75 near the town on Monday night.
Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the driver and co-driver of a white UD40 truck were stopped by 5 men in reflective police jackets at around 8pm.
The complainants had earlier loaded liquor and groceries at a warehouse in Port Elizabeth with the consignment destined for businesses in Graaff-Reinet.
Swart says they were tailed and then forced to pull over by the suspects driving a blue Renault and a grey VW Polo.
One of the vehicles was equipped with a blue light.
Gerda says the driver and his co-driver were tied up and then dropped off at separate locations in the Uitenhage area.
The suspects made off with the truck and its contents valued at thousands of rands.
The registration number of the missing truck is FYJ 867 EC.
