Two brazen hijackers rammed into a Toyota Corolla on Thursday afternoon, which was stationary at a stop street in Kabega Park, Port Elizabeth.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the driver was on the corner of Van Der Stel and Woltemade Street when a Blue Ford Tracker blocked his way.
The driver was then approached by an armed gunman and attempted to reverse to get away. The hijackers then rammed into his vehicle, broke the passenger window and demanded he open the boot.
Naidu says a driver in a Corsa bakkie, who thought there was an accident, stopped at the scene to try and assist.
She says the good Samaritan was then robbed of his bakkie, which was later found abandoned in Ranuga Street in New Brighton.
Police says the Ford Tracer has been impounded for further investigation as it was not reported stolen.
