Nelson Mandela University students are expected to lead a picket protest outside the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Friday morning.
That's where a 29-year-old man will make his first court appearance for raping two students and stabbing one of them, on NMU's Second Avenue Campus on Monday night.
The man was arrested on Wednesday, allegedly while trying to sell a computer that he stole during the attack.
An invitation circulated on social media, which called on students, staff and community members to join the protest, with a further appeal for no political branding.
But, the DA's student body, Daso, also plans a picket protest at the court.
DASO's Hlomela Bucwa, says the protest will be a peaceful call for people to say enough is enough.
Meanwhile, the four suspects arrested for firing shots on NMU's campus on Wednesday are also due to appear in court.
They face charges of attempted murder, attempted hijacking and discharging of a firearm.
They were arrested following a morning of drama, which began with an attempted hijacking in Central, with a sequel on the NMU campus, where shots were fired while students were holding a protest calling for a safer campus.
Police said the attempted murder charge was laid by a freelance cameraman, who said the shots were fired in his direction.
No one was injured.
