The SA Weather Sevice in Gqeberha says Nelson Mandela Bay's main catchment area in the Langkloof received between 35 mm at Joubertina and 55 mm at Avontuur over the past few days.
Spokesperson, Garth Sampson says unconfirmed reports have been received of as much as 143 mm at Krakeelrivier Hoek.
He says although the area did not receive the magical 50 mm in 24 hours, there were good continuous falls and this will undoubtedly cause run-off towards the main storage dams.
Sampson says this will only be known on Monday when they receive the official figures from the Department of Water and Sanitation, however, at a conservative estimate, it should raise dam levels a good few percent.
