Eastern Cape premier, Lubabalo Mabuyane says he has noted with concern the claims made by suspended ANC Secretary-General, Ace Magashule that money stolen from municipalities was deposited into his bank account.
He says in a statement the allegations are not true and that he had never received money from a certain Mr. Bam, nor has he ever received money that was stolen from municipalities as claimed by Magashule in an interview with the SABC.
Mabuyane says he voluntarily submitted himself to the ANC's Integrity Committee which cleared his name given that no wrongdoing was found on his part by the Committee.
The Premier says he regards Magashule's remarks as malicious defamation of his character and is considering legal action in the matter.
