Good rain over large parts of the Eastern Cape on Sunday into Monday led to localized flooding in several places along the coast, with 71mm measured at Port Alfred.
According to figures released by the SA Weather Service on Monday morning, 38.8mm was measured at Qonce (KWT), and 36.4 mm in East London.
Weather office spokesperson, Garth Sampson, said East London can expect more rain on Monday.
In Nelson Mandela Bay, 43.8 millimeters was measured at Third Avenue Dip in Newton Park, 30 mm at Coega and a whopping 66.6 mm at the airport.
Sampson said however that the catchment area of Nelson Mandela Bay's main supply dams received very little rain, with just 9mm measured at Kareedouw.
He added that there were reports of localized flooding in several areas of Nelson Mandela Bay, including, Russel Road, Cape Road and Allister Miller Drive.
