The Port Elizabeth branch of the SA Weather Service is reporting that good rains fell in the catchment areas last night.
Spokesperson Garth Sampson says 8 millimetres was measured at Patensie, 15 millimetres at Joubertina and a healthy 26 millimetres at Karreedouw.
Consumers are reminded, however, to continue using water sparingly.
Sampson says no rain is forecast for the weekend and that the prospects are looking good for a full game of cricket at St Georges Park on Friday when the Chevrolet Warriors and the Cape Cobras clash in the Momentum One Day Cup.
