Waterwheel wheelchairs and beach access mats were handed over to Buffalo City Metro in Gonubie Beachside on Monday.
The project was launched following a partnership with the Department of Forestry Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE).
The collaboration also aims at promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society.
BCMM Executive Mayor Princess Faku said we need to fight against the marginalization of people with disabilities
"I plead with officials and the public at large that these facilities do not go to waste. The success of this project is on us," Faku said
"Through the District Development Model, the city will aggressively promote ocean economy to create job opportunities, and empower people with disabilities and women," she added.
