The death toll in Saturday's accident on the Rocklands Road in Nelson Mandela Bay has risen to three.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says this is after the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash died in hospital from his injuries.
She says the accident happened shortly after 6 pm on the R334 known as the Rocklands/Uitenhage Road.
It is alleged that the driver of a Toyota Avanza, 57-year-old Zamile Matroos, was trying to avoid an accident by swerving out for cattle on the road when he hit a Volkswagen Golf head-on.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says 30-year-old Jolene Nel (Bothma) died on the scene while the driver, 27-year-old Gerhard Boshoff was rushed to Livingstone Hospital where he died on Sunday.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
