The humanitarian organisation, Gift of the Givers will supply personal protective equipment to hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay on Saturday, amid the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the Metro.
Founder, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman says they have been receiving desperate calls for assistance from hospitals in the Metro, as well as from many other health facilities in the Eastern Cape - all citing a lack of PPE.
He says their teams will continue to assist 36 facilities in the province.
Sooliman says they will provide large quantities of personal protective equipment to the Livingstone, Dora Nginza and Port Elizabeth Provincial Hospitals, as well as the field hospital.
