A Gift of the Givers team is preparing to bring in emergency food and water to the remaining animals at Seaview Predator Park in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The organization said that vet, Dr Annie Mears, has asked for water, a tiger pool, and food for two Siberian tigers and three Nile crocodiles.

They are the last five remaining inhabitants of the Park which closed its doors to the public last June, during the height of the Covid lockdown.

Gift of the Givers says it will send in water tankers on Thursday to provide 10 000 litres of clean water to replace the filthy diseased water that the crocodiles are currently lying in.

Fish will be provided from the Gift of the Givers "invasive carp" fishing project in Knysna.

Last year, a man who worked at the Park died after being attacked by a Siberian tiger.

David (Siphiwo) Solomon was working on an electric fence at one of the enclosures when a tiger jumped out and attacked him.

The park closed shortly after the tragic incident and shortly after several animals were relocated to other sanctuaries.
