George Traffic Department burgled

 Police are still at the scene at the Traffic Department at George, which was burgled at the weekend.

Robbers are believed to have gained access through the roof and managed to break open the safe.

The office handles vehicle-licencing for the area.

Police spokesperson, captain Malcolm Pojie, says cheques and cash were stolen.

The office will be closed for the rest of the day.
