The George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit is seeking assistance from the public to resolve a rape case in Parkdene on 13 September.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says the 43-year-old victim was on her way home from a tavern in Snake Street when the suspect stopped her in a footpath.
He confronted and threatened her where after he threw her on the ground and attempted to rape her.
Pojie says she screamed for help and called on her boyfriend's name who resides close by.
He says a resident who heard her cry for help woke up the boyfriend who came to her rescue.
The suspect in his mid 20's fled the scene on foot and is still at large.
