One of the suspects in the Hlompho Mohapi murder made another appearance in court on Thursday after a knife, wrapped in plastic, was removed via his anus.
The 29-year-old Phumlani Qusheka now faces an additional charge for the possession of a dangerous weapon after he managed to conceal a 17cm long knife, wrapped in plastic, in his anus.
Staff at the George correctional services, where Quesheka is currently in custody, noticed the knife via a metal detector.
The incident happened on the 5th of May.
Quesheka was instructed to remove the knife.
He did not apply for bail as he is facing a murder charge and will be back in the George District court on the 3rd of June.
Qusheka also appeared in court on Wednesday with a pastor and his fiancé in connection with Mohapi's murder.
Mohapi's body was discovered by fishermen at Herold's Bay last year with multiple stab wounds and her throat partially slit.
Wednesday's court appearance was a brief one, and the case was postponed to the 31st of July for the case to be centralised.
