The George Municipality says the second phase of its Western water supply pipeline programme will be completed by October this year.
The municipality says the R68m project will ensure a sustainable water supply to existing low, medium and high income developments, industry and commercial concerns, as well as provide for future development in the western areas of George.
Municipality spokesperson Ilse Schoonraad says the first completed phase saw the installation of 5.1km of pipes while the second pahse which is now underway will see a further 5.5km of pipes being installed.
She says the entire project is funded through a Municipal Infrastructure Grant.
