Police have yet to release the identity of the family who was found shot to death near the Berg Kwagga National Park.
Die Burger reports that a man, his wife and two children were found on Sunday afternoon.
Its believed that he shot his wife and two young children before turning the gun on himself.
Sanparks spokesperson, Megan Taplin, says the incident happened just outside the park.
"A vehicle with four occupants, a man, woman and two children was found on the entrance road which leads into the mountain Zebra National Park from the R61 Road. The occupants of the Vehicle were found dead and the police were notified and yesterday the police cordoned off the area to investigate and restricted traffic going in and out of the National Park, but the road has now been opened and the police are handling the investigation" Taplin said.
