George man dies after being set alight in alleged mob justice

A 36-year old man from the Garden Route died in a Cape Town hospital on Monday after he was set alight by a group of men in George a fortnight ago. The deceased, Domique Ogle suffered more than 40% burn wounds on his body.
Two of his friends were also set alight and are still recovering from critical injuries in a George hospital.Six suspects have since been arrested and are now facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
The suspects, aged between 21 and 35 years, poured petrol over their victims and set them alight for allegedly stealing a laptop.
The incident happened in Maraiskamp. Residents watched in horror as Domique and his friends were set on fire in Stompneus Street.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says a police officer sustained injuries during the arrest of the sixth suspect.
The 28 year old man attacked the police sergeant with a knife during the arrest. The police officer was treated for his injuries.
The six men will appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for a formal bail application.
