Four people have been killed in an accident on the R-63 between DebeNek and Middledrift in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says a Toyota Avanza, transporting nurses to a graduation ceremony in Alice collided head on with a truck.
He says seven others were injured in the accident, and are being treated in the Alice hospital.
The drivers of both vehicles were critically injured and the driver of the Avanza died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Bramwell says the three women who died on the scene were all nurses.
