A house robber was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in the George Regional Court on Friday.
The 21-year-old Vuyisani Luthango was arrested at his house near Komani in the Eastern Cape recently following an intensive police investigation.
The case relates to an incident in April this year in Station Street, George when Luthango threatened a 19-year-old woman in her house with a knife.
He took her laptop, cellphone and other items before fleeing.
The Western Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-general Thembisile Patekile said Luthango’s conviction and sentencing should serve as a deterrent to other robbers.
