George dentist Ian Venter has been sentenced to three years direct imprisonment after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.
The 46-year-old Venter was sentenced in the George Circuit High Court on Thursday.
The dentist was arrested in 2015 and has since been out on bail. His name is already in the National Directory for sex offenders after he was sentenced to four years correctional supervision for having sex with a 15-year-old boy in 2011.
The latest charge relates to an incident at Venter's Herolds Baai home in 2015 where he sexually assaulted the teenager.
In 2017 he was also charged with contempt of court for violating one of his conditions whereby he was not allowed to treat any children.
Venter's leave to appeal was also denied shortly after sentencing.
Meanwhile, the organisation Woman And Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA) expressed their unhappiness with what they called a light sentence.
They did, however, welcome the fact that Venter was sentenced to direct imprisonment and that he would be spending his first night behind bars.
