Two police constables from George have been arrested on charges of bribery and corruption.
The two, who were arrested in a police sting operation on Tuesday night, also face a charge of defeating the ends of justice.
Police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, says the sting was carried out by a warrant officer who pretended to be drunk when he was stopped by the two on the R-102 between the airport and George.
She says the constables, who allegedly accepted a bribe of a thousand, were arrested about 500 metres from the scene.
Steyn says they are due in court soon.
A departmental investigation into the alleged incident is also underway.
