Refugees will be holding a placard demonstration on Wednesday at the interim refugee reception office in North End, Port Elizabeth.
They're protesting against the closure of the reception office on Thursday by the Department of Home Affairs.
Meanwhile, several parties will be bringing a high court application opposing the closure of the only centre in the Eastern Cape providing services to refugees.
The parties are Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University's Refugee Rights Centre, the Somali Association of South Africa, the Lawyers for Human Rights as attorneys for the applicants and the Project for Conflict Resolution and Development.
They say the closure of the centre will prejudice asylum seekers and add to the burden of hardship already being experienced by this vulnerable sector.
