Eastern Cape Safety MEC speaks out on violent crime.


 Eastern Cape Safety MEC, Helen Sauls August, has called for joint action to incidents of rape, murder and attacks on women.

She says there's an urgent need for a multi-sectoral response to the scourge.

Sauls-August was commenting after the reason rapes of elderly women, including an attack on a woman more than a hundred years old.

The MEC says everyone in every corner of the street should help to protect women and children and particularly the elderly in the province.
