The South African Weather Service is warning that heavy rain resulting in localised flooding is expected in Gauteng province today.
Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) have urged people to stay away from flooded roads and self-made bridges, with a 60-year-old female rescued in Ivory Park on Sunday after she was trapped while trying to cross one of the bridges.
Disaster management teams are on standby in the province.
ER24's Russel Meiring says that along with Tshwane Fire, EMS and several other services, they're currently assisting the public in Centurion, and surrounding areas, following heavy rains and flooding.
Numerous people have been left stranded in buildings, as well as others searching for higher ground.

Meanwhile: The humanitarian organisation, Gift of the Givers says its rapid response teams are battling to keep up with demands for help in the Eastern Cape where dams, rivers and boreholes are drying up.
Gift of the Givers founder, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman says more borehole pumps will be installed in the coming days in the drought-ravaged towns of Adelaide, Bedford, Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg.
The PE Branch of the SA Weather Service says light rain can be expected along the coast, east of Cape St Francis, right up to Port Edward from Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
And the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is reporting that the average combined level of the Metro's four main supply dams is now at 34.79%
The largest of the supply dams, the Kouga, is now at just 31.37%, the Churchill at 98.35, the Impofu at 17.32 and the Groendal dam at 36.65%
