A suspect accused of the kidnapping and murder of 52-year-old Hartenbos resident Desmond Share has abandoned his bid for bail in the Mossel Bay Magistrates Court yesterday.
Thirty-year-old Shadreck Mhetu made another court appearance this week following his arrest in Du Noon in Cape Town after Share’s body was found in a bushy area near Albertinia on 5 August.
He was reported missing by his family a few days before his body was found. He left his Hartenbos home to do work in Herbertsdale but never returned.
His bakkie was also stolen and has since been found near the Lesotho border.
Two brothers, 31-year-old Shown, and 25-year-old Akim Gondo are being sought by police in connection with Share’s murder.
The case against Mhetu was postponed to 10 October.
