The Garden Route and Eastern Cape can brace for heavy rain and bitterly cold weather this week.
Weather office spokesperson, Garth Sampson, says a surface high pressure is expected to advect a deep layer of moisture over the Eastern Cape from the southeast.
He says this will create favourable conditions for heavy rain along the South Coast from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
Sampson says snowfalls are also expected.
"From Thursday night into Friday morning we can expect cloudy cold, rainy and wet conditions to move in over the Eastern Cape good or bad news for some that we are expecting snowfalls over the high ground and even places close to Port Elizabeth such as Sneeuberg, Drakensberg and heavy rain can be expected at times along the south coast between Tsitsikamma onwards right through to Port Alfred" Sampson said.
