Free State police arrested two men who allegedly posed as police officers and robbed the Wesselsbron Post Office on Wednesday.
Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, said the two, aged 32 and 37, arrived at the Post Office at around 07:45 and held up the manager, two employees and a security officer.
He said they were forced into a back office and tied up before the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
Thakeng said the neatly dressed men wore police face masks and produced a police appointment card.
He said their getaway vehicle, a Toyota Camry with Botswana registration plates, was circulated and later spotted about 40km's away in the Welkom CBD.
They were stopped by members of the Welkom Flying Squad and arrested but none of the stolen money was recovered.
Thakeng said the two suspects will appear in court soon.
