Emotional scenes unfolded in the corridors of the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday, where a large group of friends and family of slain armed response officer, Roderick Erasmus, gathered.
This followed the brief appearance of the four men arrested in connection with his murder at a shop in Greenbushes on the 27th of December last year.
The four accused Unathi Adam, Sanele Blauuw, Mandilakhe Mjungulu, and Luxolo Peni, made a brief appearance in court on Friday morning.
The court heard that Blauuw, who was initially arrested alongside Adam, had abandoned his bid for bail.
State prosecutor, Craig Fillis, told the court that the case against Blauuw would be postponed to the 26th of February for further investigation.
He said the remaining trio will, however, remain behind bars for another week for profiling and will be back in court on the 16th of January.
The men face charges of murder, hijacking and business robbery.
