A Port Elizabeth man guilty of brutally assaulting his wife and holding her captive in the Forest Hill flat has made another court appearance.
The case against Frederick Gordon was postponed in the city's magistrate's court to the 25th for a date for final legal representation.
Gordon who sacked his legal aid lawyer is seeking private counsel for pre-sentencing proceedings which get underway on the 20th.
In July Gordon was found guilty of the brutal assault and rape of his wife Avril.
However, he was acquitted on a charge of attempted murder.
