Former Air Force flight sergeant, Frederick Gordon was sentenced to an effective 25 years in prison in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Thursday.
Gordon was convicted of kidnapping, assaulting and raping his wife, Avril, between December 2010 and March 2011.
Algoa FM News reporter, Raahil Sain filed this report.
On count 1 for assault to cause grievous bodily harm he received 10 years, on count 2 of kidnapping he received 5 years, on counts 3 and 4 on the charges of rape he received 10 and 15 years.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
Magistrate Chris Kruger concluded that Gordon's conduct was bizarre and bordered on satanism.
Kruger added that all four counts had the element of violence and that Gordon showed no remorse for the crimes.
