The body of a 68-year-old man washed ashore in Aston Bay on Sunday.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is believed that the man, whose name is known to SAPS, had drowned as a result of Saturday's freak waves that battered the coastline.
She says his body was discovered at the Seekoei River Causeway between Paradise Valley and Aston Bay.
The causeway was closed to traffic due to excessive water on the road's surface on Saturday.
Colonel Naidu says the victim's name will be released once his next of kin is informed.
This is the second person believed to have drowned as a result of the freak waves.
On Saturday, a 73-year-old woman died when she got swept away by a freak wave at Leentjiesklip in Wilderness.
Colonel Naidu says on Sunday morning a skull also washed ashore at Supertubes Beach in Jeffreys Bay in full view of onlookers who were watching the waves.
An inquest docket was opened.
Similar conditions are expected along the coast on Sunday and the public is urged to take extreme caution and not to put themselves in harms way.
