Fraud case against former police captain postponed for trial

The case of a former Port Elizabeth police Captain, who allegedly defrauded job seekers out of thousands of rands, has been postponed until the 19th of April for a trial date.
Charl De Ridder made a brief appearance in the city's magistrates court on Wednesday.
The Forty-three year old is accused of accepting money from job seekers on the pretext that he would find work for them in Dubai or Iraq.
He allegedly lied about booking flight tickets and visas and went as far as having passports made up for the complainants.
At least seven people fell victim to his alleged scam.
