Numsa meets with shop stewards in PE and Uitenhage

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa in the Eastern Cape is holding a meeting of all its Shop stewards in the Port Elizabeth/Uitenhage area on Wednesday.

The Joint Shopstewards Council marks the launch of a nationwide roadshow that will see NUMSA's leadership explaining the impact of the National Development plan to its Shop stewards.

Numsa regional secretary Phumzile Nodongwe says the Shop-steward Council will also discuss a battle plan for the 2013 collective bargaining round for negotiations in the auto assembly industry, Eskom and in the smelting establishments.

"The rationale around is for us to have a very clear understanding for the demise that the workers have to put forward for this round of negotiations. The other issue is also to talk on the NDP of how it will be impacting ont he workers" he said.
