Police in Port Elizabeth have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with a spate of robberies reported at the Arlington tip.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 19-year-old Masixole Njajula was arrested on Monday night and made a brief appearance in court on Tuesday.
She says the breathrough came last week Thursday when three suspects were detained for allegedy robbing a 35-year-old victim on the 3rd of January 2020.
The complainant was at the tip offloading rubble when an unknown man approached him and tried to stab him.
Naidu says three more suspects then appeared and the victim was shoved to the ground before his wallet and phone were taken.
The 19-year-old Bernard Nkampeni, the 26-year-old Thulani Yawa and the 26-year-old Lwandile Ngqobotyi were positively linked to the robbry and already made their first court appearance.
Naidu says all four suspects will appear in court together on Wednesday.
Ngqobotyi has already been linked to two other cases which were reported in December 2019.
Any victims who have not yet come forward are asked to do so to establish whether or not they are linked to any cases.
