Grahamstown police have arrested two men, aged 17 and 29, for the alleged rape of four women in Joza Township this week.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says they will appear in court on Thursday.
She says the two allegedly accosted the women on Monday night and took them to a house in Extension Nine in Joza, where they were raped.
Govender says three of the girls were released from the house in the early hours of Tuesday morning while they continued to detain an 18-year-old woman.
She says the three went to the police station where they reported the matter.
"Officers on duty followed up on information and went to the house in extension 9 where they found the fourth victim as well as both the suspects. During the preliminary investigation they also found a pistol with three live rounds of ammunition" she said.
The suspects will be charged with rape, kidnapping, armed robbery and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
