Eastern Cape police commissioner, Celiwe Binta, has lauded the swift arrest of four suspects who attacked a group of people staying at cottages in Elliotdale.
Provincial police spokesperson, brigadier Marinda Mills, says one person was shot and killed during the robbery.
She says the victims, who were conducting exploration diving in the area of Xhora River Mouth, were attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Mills says the suspects were arrested by members of a special task team in Mthatha and Mqanduli.
Several items stolen during the robbery were recovered while several fire-arms were also seized.
