Four suspects have been arrested following an armed robbery at a filling station along the N2 at The Crags between Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikamma toll gate.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Christopher Spies says at least five armed suspects entered the shop at around 5 am on Sunday morning, and robbed the staff of cell phones.
He says they also took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing.
Spies says police promptly responded and a shootout ensued with the suspects.
One suspect was fatally wounded and another was wounded and taken to hospital under police guard.
Three other suspects were arrested and are in police custody.
Sergeant Christopher Spies says a number of firearms were recovered as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
He says the getaway vehicle was found abandoned in a forest and police are still searching for one more suspect.
