Uitenhage police have arrested four suspects for business robbery at a shop in Kwanobuhle during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is alleged that the 30-year old complainant was asleep at the back of his shop in Makapa Street, when he woke up to noises inside the premises.
He immediately contacted the police and alerted them of a possible break-in.
Naidu says four men, armed with knives, entered his sleeping area and demanded money.
She says the suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, groceries and airtime.
Naidu says the suspects later returned and while inside the shop, police arrived.
The four men, aged between 25 and 27, were arrested and will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Monday.
