Four people were killed in an accident on the N9 between Willomore and Aberdeen on Saturday morning.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport says the accident happened at around 06h30 when a Kia SUV lost control and overturned.
It says two men, a woman and a child were declared dead at the scene while two people sustained critical injuries.
The vehicle was travelling from George to Pearston with three men, two women and a child.
The department says it is alleged that speeding was the main contributing factor for the accident.
Willowmore police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
