Four people were killed in two separate road accidents in the Eastern Cape at the weekend.
The provincial transport department says in the first accident at around 20:15 on Saturday evening, two joggers, aged 15 and 22, were killed in a hit-and-run incident on the N6 in Komani - previously Queenstown.
It says two males were hit by an unknown vehicle which didn't stop to call emergency services.
The department says in the second incident during the early hours of Saturday morning, two vehicles collided head-on near the Vulindlela Industrial Park in Mthatha.
Two occupants were declared dead at the scene, while eight others sustained injuries.
The injured were rushed to the Mthatha Regional Hospital.
The cause of the accident is not known.
Police are investigating cases of culpable homicide in both accidents.
