Four people have been killed in yet another collision on Eastern Cape's roads.
A spokesperson for Provincial Traffic Unathi Bhinqose says the accident happened at about 2 am on Friday on the N9 between Aberdeen and Willowmore.
He says the truck was travelling towards Willowmore while the taxi, with 16 people on board, travelled towards Cape Town.
Bhinqose says two men and two women from the taxi died on the scene while injured patients were taken to hospital in Graaff Reinet.
He says the driver of the truck and taxi survived and will be facing charges of culpable homicide.
It has been a grim start to the festive season in the Eastern Cape with 22 people killed since the 1st of December.
The names of the deceased are not yet known.
